Something to keep an eye out for is the fact that the Spellstones only upgrade while they are actually in your hand (as far as we are aware right now, anyway), so that can be a major downside to this type of strategy. I imagine it will have a somewhat similar play pattern to the current Evolve Shaman where they have the Doppelgangster + Evolve combo for two rounds of powerful board floods, except it’s a Snowfury Giant + Greater Sapphire Spellstone combo for two rounds of very, very powerful board floods of 4 8/8s. Keeping in mind that the vast majority of Shaman’s controlling tools are Overload cards, the “Overload deck” could become a real thing. Current Shaman decks actively avoid Overload cards, however we cannot overlook the synergy with the new Snowfury Giant from KFT. It’s a drawback on powerful cards and as such, it is a punishing mechanism. Sapphire Spellstone: Spell - Nature: 7: Summon 2 copies of a friendly minion. Greater Sapphire Spellstone: Spell - Nature: 7: Summon 3 copies of a friendly minion. Onyx Spellstone: Spell - Shadow: 5: Destroy up to 2 random enemy minions. Now, the question becomes “Can the Spellstone deck exist?” On one hand, Overload is bad. Greater Onyx Spellstone: Spell - Shadow: 5: Destroy up to 3 random enemy minions.
They always lose all buffs and debuffs upon transformation. If you Overload by three Mana Crystals though, you get to summon two copies. 1 I got a 0 mana spellstone in the Dalaran Heist ,during the tavern, and when it upgrades, it loses it’s 0 mana value BigHugger-2468 10:25:40 UTC 2 This is consistent with all other cards that transform in hand. This costs seven Mana and summons one copy of a friendly minion you target. The Greater version of this card is some amazing value, that much is certain. The second example provided was a Shaman card called Lesser Sapphire Spellstone. Even the first upgrade is already exactly opposite its Lesser version in terms of value – now costing less than two Manipulators while doing the same thing. This card evolves into Greater Sapphire Spellstone. (Overload 3 Mana Crystals to upgrade.) This card is created with Lesser Sapphire Spellstone. Moderate Summon 2 copies of a friendly minion. It was introduced in the Kobolds & Catacombs expansion for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. It might however, once you unlock the Spellstone’s upgraded version. Sapphire Spellstone is a spell for the shaman class. In this frame, the Lesser version of the Spellstone seems unplayable, although an argument could always be made for critical mass – if your deck wanted Faceless Manipulator in the first place, wouldn’t it want more of them? Probably, but such a deck does not currently exist. It’s a class-restricted Faceless Manipulator on a spell, however it costs a lot more. Greater Sapphire Spellstone is a spell for the shaman class. Unlike this card’s Druid alternative, the Sapphire upgradable spell does not look too exciting at first. Wynan (or in my case, Dynaheir) will explain the need to find the original enchanters scroll in order to neutralize the spellstone.
